Living Like in A Fairytale

Fairytale, fairytale. Nope, this post isn't related to my previous posts about how I wanted to doodle 'Today was A Fairytale' by Taylor Swift. This really is about fairytale, the princess story.

First, I really have no idea about Cinderella. I mean, how come we could live like her? Okay she's being bullied by her stepmother and stepsisters, she was treated like a servant in her own father's house. Then every girl in the country was invited to the prince's party. She was forbidden to attend the party by her stepmom and stepsists, then what did she do? She was crying endlessly, hoping for a magical help, and doing nothing. Yes, in the end there was a fairy godmother came to help her magically. But what if the fairy godmother never comes? I think she would end up crying and giving up, maybe one of her stepsisters would be married to the prince and be a princess.

If I were her, I would do anything to attend the party. I would save some money, or even borrow it from some people I know, since the invitation was spread until the H day. I would sneak out, ask a dressmaker nearby to make me a gown, and do my own hair. I'd borrow my neighbor's shoes, and ride my horse to the castle. There I'd meet the prince and dance with him.

Second, it's miss Sleeping Beauty or Princess Aurora. She was the cursed princess. Everyone in the castle, even some fairies, knew that she was destined die in her 17th birthday, although she wouldn't really die, she just fell asleep. But then she grew up naturally and still arranged a sweet seventeen birthday bash when everyone was invited. and what I didn't get was why she still went to the top of the tower and touched a needle that she knew would kill her. well in the end there was a brave prince coming in to break the curse by kissing her, and she got up. but what if the prince never comes? what if the hidden castle never found behind the rose bush? I think everyone in the castle would just die without the world knows.

If I were her, nope, if I were the king and queen, who were her parents, I'd demolish every sewing machine in my country. It's okay that we can't make clothes, I would import it from other countries. Meanwhile, I'd make my country enriched with agricultural products and mining products. I'd also make the technology in my country the best in the world. So that the people won't lack anything, and my country can always got clothing supplies from the world. I'd also teach my cursed daughter to always be careful about her soul because she was the crown princess who'd lead the country.

If I were the princess, I'd take care of myself very carefully. I won't do anything dangerous that would cost my life. Maybe I'd grow up as a not-adventurous girl, but I'd grow genius because my country's technology is the best and I was taught about how to improve it too. And if in the end I still had to die, I wouldn't want to wait too long for the prince to save me. Geez, I'd be too old when found! So I'd write letters to the whole world, telling how I and my country are in danger because of a witch's curse, and ask for every country to come and help whenever they lost contact with my country.

Oh. Well.

I really think like a country's president. or prime minister. or king. whatever.

That might be why I haven't been a princess who found (or is found by) the prince. but seriously, Cinderella and Aurora should have done better things in their own conditions. Stop crying, Cinderella, do something! And you, Aurora, you're threatened to death, then prepare to save yourself!

Sigh. I don't wanna live like in a fairytale. Because girls in fairytale are weak. they always cried for helps. they never helped themselves. there were always illogical miracle that solve their problems, and I think it won't give good education. maybe I won't let my kids read fairytale too in the future. I'd rather let them read biographies instead.

I Have A Dream

Do you have a dream?

I think everyone does. Even them whose dreams had been true. That's one way of how human survives, by dreaming. By not stopping to dream, everyday we find new things to do, to develop. We learn new things. Even the smallest and simplest thing that other people claim as 'not important.'

So, what's your dream?

Mine is being a lawyer, a wife, and a mother. I'm stepping stones to reach those, and everyday I learn new things. I get new challenges. I haven't been those at all, but since I'm on my way there, I don't feel enough to have only those dreams. So I try looking for new things and I naturally find them.

So this is it. I went on a date with a cute guy on September 20, 2010. I always wanted to treasure that moment no matter how, and I also found Taylor Swift's Today Was A Fairytale as the theme song for that day LOL...I know that's silly, and I don't even get him mine. But I just want to treasure that moment, put it in a box and keep it.

Then I was playing Tumblr. I tracked some doodles and I found cute doodles. I found them in perfect colors and shapes, too cute to miss. How I adore them who drew those little pictures. But I also found out that most of them use tablet to draw, that's why they can draw perfect lines without screwing on it. Some of them also use a painting tool on PC but I found it hard to use it especially the coloring. So, since I can't afford a tablet yet, and am unable to use that new-painting-tool, I try to go back to MS Paint.

Yes, MS Paint. I also drew some avatars for my social accounts using that old tool :D

I found some doodlers who post their pictures in Tumblr quoted song lyrics and drew them. I think it was brilliant, furthermore they drew cute pictures too. I ever asked them to quote 'today was a fairytale, I wore a dress, you wore a dark gray t-shirt' and draw it, but they said they didn't do requests :(

Well, since all the doors are closed, why don't I just open one door by my hands?

I can draw. I can use MS Paint. No tablet? No problem. Can't use paint tool? No problem. My pictures are screwed and not good? Practice! So I started doodling with pencil on papers first, put colors with markers, take pictures, and post them in social networks. I guess it kinda worked, some people loved it and gave compliment. But since I can't keep on taking pictures, I try doodling with MS Paint. Smaller pictures than my avatars, more difficult to do. I found it hard to draw straight lines, seriously, but I didn't stop.

You know, I somehow love drawing. Like writing poems and novels, drawing is like a part of me. I have been doing it since I was a kid, and it really is a great thing to do in leisure times. But don't get me wrong, drawing is NOT my passion. It's just a hobby. I don't draw to make money, I don't want it to be a job. That was why I went to law school instead of design school, because my passion is law (or litigation maybe, in short).

Back to topic, so I doodled 'today was a fairytale, I wore a dress, you wore a dark gray t-shirt' with pencil on paper. Feeling not satisfied, I tried doodling it in MS Paint, and this is it...

YAY I MADE IT! BY MYSELF! WOOHOO!

I know it wasn't a good doodle, it's screwed in so many places. But I am enough proud that I made it. My dream has been true! HA-HA! I know it's lame, but I really dreamed to draw 'today was a fairytale, I wore a dress you wore a dark gray t-shirt' with my own hands. And I have made it true. And I'm enough satisfied. I colored the clothes with the same colors that I and that cute guy wore in September 20, 2010. I could even draw the optical glasses for the guy, YAY! I'm awesome! LOL!

Here it is. Those doodlers in Tumblr are extraordinary. They created good things using complete tools and did their best, my hats are off for them. But don't make limited tools stand on your way. Don't stop dreaming, and don't stop trying hard to reach it. Even with limited tools, you must be able to do something, although it's smaller and simpler. But it's okay. And remember, practice always makes perfect.

I want to be extraordinary. And extraordinary people do their best even with limited tools. That's what I want to be :)

Don't stop dreaming!

Fairytale and The Exception

Do you believe in fairytale?

Have you ever found something in a crowd of people you despise the most?

Have you ever seen one different thing in the middle of hundred same things?

Are you really who you are?

I found something in a crowd of people I despise. When everything looked the same (and annoying), it was the only different thing. Like the only exception. I took a chance to take that exception and met hard ways, times when I feel like giving up and let go of the exception.

But exception is exception. It has always been since the first time. And it makes me believe in fairytale because I was in it. I believe there are times like a princess met her knight. It don't take ball dance nor white horse nor carriage nor glass shoes nor crown nor beautiful dress nor shining armor. Fairytale is about time. Time together.

And I am who I am. In the fairytale, I become a lady that I always dream to be.

Who cares of where this will go, expectation will only hurt when it is not about to be true. I ship my fairytale, my exception, and my lady-likeness in a treasure box.
