More Important than Winning

In this life, people must face competition all the time. we fight, we struggle, we try hard, work like we're dying just to win the competition. we do, we give anything, the best of us, to become the winner. because no one of us would want to be the loser. (ehm, if there's anyone who wants to be a loser, that's none of my business LOL)

but, in some kind of competitions, not winning doesn't mean lose. loser is not appropriate to call a person who doesn't win the competition. furthermore, in any competitions, this 'loser' word is so very inappropriate. why? because people who don't win had made a start with all their strength and bravery. they had done their very best, they had worked so very hard to win. they gave everything, even sacrificed some most important things in their life, just to win. so, people who don't win actually are same skilled, trained, and capable as the winner.

or, they might be more.

why more? because the winner sometimes is not a person that this world really needs. even in this century, some evil and jerky people are used to play money politics to make them win. then the paid judges or audiences choose them as the winner for the money they accepted before. yuck, this situation is so very disgusting and gross, and anyone who won competitions by this dirty way are all cursed. especially people who don't really have skills and never ever try hard. yuck yuck yuck!

okay let's just forget about that money politics. let's just be focus to the winning-losing talks. in a competition, people are trying so very hard and sometimes overworking. there are also some people who had trained themselves since they were very young. and don't forget about natural talent that some people might have. these things can really influence appearance and performance of those people who compete. especially when they are asked to always be themselves all the time during the competition. they show whatever they are with all their skills, talents, and training results.

that is why, in such competition (or we are used to call it 'contest'), there are used to be some interesting, typical, and unique contestants. they naturally show who they are with no fear nor shame. and in this kinda contest too, we will often find some better contestants than the winner.

why is it so? there are so many factors depend on the judging system. but in the end, who will matter it? the world knows what it needs, what it really wants. no matter who the winner is, the better contestants are the ones who become the real stars.

so, is it now really important to be a winner? I don't think so. what we must do is just try hard to win the competition for sure, but more important for us to shine brighter than anyone with our own lights during the competition. then if we don't win the competition, the world will always remember us, remember what we've done during the competition. and remember, losing a competition is NOT that we are losers, because losers are people who never dare to make a start, always afraid to try and feeling incapable all the time, or they who play money-politics behind.

we are all stars, and we are twinkling with our own special lights.

Crushophobia

What is crushophobia? Ahem...since this word is originally made by me, so I must be responsible to give the best definition about this new kind of phobia. LOL

Crushophobia: a weird fear of falling in love with uncertain person, and the phobiac is used to want to stop everyone who is in love in uncertainty (from @fitriaridzikita, my twitter account). in Bahasa Indonesia, I translate it as: ketakutan yang aneh terhadap perasaan cinta kepada orang yang tidak bersikap jelas, dan penderita cenderung memiliki keinginan untuk menghentikan setiap orang yang jatuh cinta dalam ketidakjelasan.

actually, there is no such phobia in the world, everything just came out from my insane mind LOL. based on the condition and feelings that happen to me, that new kind of phobia appeared in my mind.

before everyone misunderstands this negative phobia, I want to confirm some things as follows:
1. Crushophobiac is not afraid to fall in love. she/he is just trying hard to prevent her/himself from falling in love too deep before everything is certain and clear.
2. Crushophobiac is very logical. she/he always tell people to stop falling in love deeply when everything is yet uncertain.
3. Crushophobiac prefers to fall in unrequited love forever to an/some impossible man/woman, like idols, public figures, or whatever role models, instead of falling in love uncertainly with man/woman around. of course she/he wants to fall in love with ordinary people, but it's not deeply unless it's been certain.
4. Crushophobiac is caused by a dark and gloomy past, when she/he was falling in love too deep with an uncertain person, and in the end it was still unrequited.

for your info, uncertain person here means: a man/woman, used to be an enough-close friend to the crushophobiac, whom the phobiac loved so much. this uncertain person acted uncertainly, sometimes she/he looked so in love and care about the phobiac (even doing special sweet things), but another time she/he acted like nothing ever happened. she/he made some conditions that made the phobiac flew so high with big hopes, but in the end she/he told the phobiac that 'everything was because we are just friends.'

oh well, I don't think I'll translate about uncertain person to Bahasa Indonesia. I'm afraid I'll add some yells to it LOL.

But anyway, crushophobiac is not a real bad thing. this can happen to anyone who experienced dark love past. crushophobiac only needs a little time to think of how beautiful falling in love is, even when it's uncertain.

uh, but I still prefer to be logical and crushophobiac until I meet the one. LOL

Rival, Enemy, Friend

Human is a creature made with heart. by the heart, she/he can feel anything to anything and anyone. one feeling I notice here is hatred. we used to hate some people by some reasons. maybe they don't speak politely, maybe they're liars, maybe they whine too much, maybe they act real bad and hurt people we love, and still there are many reasons of hatred.

one reason I notice about this hatred is: because they do what we do, they love what we love, they can even do it better so that they conquer us.

yeah, we used to hate people because they have the same interest with us. and we'll hate them more when they take away something/someone we love, leave us alone with an unrequited feeling. we'll hate them more when they do things we do in some better ways. we'll hate them more when they feel what we feel in some more sincere ways.

in such condition, we might say that: "how come they get it? I am the one who deserves it more! they are not even qualified enough to have it!" but in the end we know we have to take things sincerely, and tell ourselves that 'something/someone' we love before might not be the best for us. might not be what we need, so that we didn't have it.

and then time goes by. things change. there comes a condition where our rival has lost that precious thing they had taken from us long ago. we might be surprised, or whatever, but eventually we will open the gate. we will throw away whatever distance between us and our rival. we will start talking to them, no matter how awkward it is. then we found out...we and our rival have lots of similarity. which had made us love and do the same thing in the old times.

we and our (ex) rival might spend some times together, talking, sharing about many things. maybe not about our competition in the past, but anything worth a lot more than that. even if it's about our competition, we'll just laugh about it, remind each other of how stupid we were, how silly things have been all the time.

the more we share, the more we might discover...that we and our rival are understanding each other so very well.

that is why, I think the statement on my favorite manga, Glass no Kamen, was right. it was said there that: my one and only rival is the one and only closest person to my heart.

really, I think it's truly true.

Look into my eyes, Baby, eyes

you know what? we need to thank YouTube and its friendly video uploaders. I don't have MTv in my darn cable TV so I didn't watch Adam Lambert's fab performance on VH1 Unplugged, but all of the videos are now available on YouTube.

anyway, this is one of my favorite Adam's song and performance (I love all of them actually, but this is one of them)

Music Again is the first track on the album For Your Entertainment. deeply I have fallen in love with this song ever since the first time the CD was still tested in the store, but maybe I won't fall so deep if the singer's not my fantastic Adam :)

I always, always pay big attention to the amazing very high notes in the part 'look into my eyes, Baby, eyes' while thinking how come Adam can sing it as well. he made it even real in some of his live show, which make me wow too much LOL. but in this unplugged version, that 'look into my eyes, Baby, eyes' part wasn't sang in high notes. Adam made it low and a little plain, but it was smooth and so very easy listening, so that the song doesn't lose its value at all. even it becomes one of my favorite Adam's performance.

oh well, I think it's enough. just enjoy the video, Readers, because if I don't stop then I can spend all day and night writing about Adam here LOL

Comic

Readers, beside this blog, I'm also blogging in Stripgenerator, and my address is http://chocodaydream.stripgenerator.com/. This blog is awesome and somehow addictive when I had a lot of ideas. I can create my own short-stories using available characters and stuff.

This one is my characters' names.

and here comes the explanation:

Daniel and Yuki: they're twins and so possessive to each other. Yuki's a great singer and Daniel's a smart movie-director.

Pio, Isa, and Titan: they're a team of chefs since college and build a food site named Bistro 3*1. Pio's a genius freak law student, Isa's a clumsy girl who eats a lot, and Titan's a humble heir.

Neo: he's a genius computer freak.

Melky: he's a friendly lady-killer advocate.

Pia: she's a innovative and critical fashion-designer.

(Neo, Melky, and Pia are Titan's cousin)

Seika and Raiha: they're a duet-singer team and always together since kid. Seika's an innocent pop vocalist, and Raiha's a cheerful rock vocalist.

Sora: he's a cute jazz singer and a big fan of Yossi.

Yossi: he's a multi-talented and respected young musician.

Risha: she's a cynical, critical, and law-obedient girl.

for more comics, please check out my blog on Stripgenerator. link was written above. happy reading! you can try making one if interested :)

p.s: ouch, I forgot writing in Bahasa Indonesia. maybe next time.

If I were A Musician...

Adam Lambert. come on, what can I say? of course I am dreaming to be like him, sing and perform like him if I were a musician. low notes, high notes, whatever notes he can sing well. he can do up beat, slow beat, and whatever kind of music. poor, he wasn't the winner of American Idol 2009 (only the runner-up), but who the heck cares? his album, For Your Entertainment is a superb thing! I bet nobody can get bored easily listening to this album, since there are sooo many kind of music and song he sings. the great thing is he never lost his identity no matter what kind of song he sings. his vocal definitely belongs to only him.

Adam Young a.k.a Owl City. LOL it's kinda funny to have idols in the same first names, huh? sooo why would I become like Owl City if I were a musician? the answer is nothing but the music and the fabulous lyrics. oh! I almost forgot to mention that he is the same age as me! well...I adore his music and lyrics, but getting more infatuated when I know that 'age' fact LOL. in the same age as me, he is an expert of creating such complicated electronic pop music. it must take superb talent, too, to be able to make lyrics like his. well, I don't understand much about electronic pop, so I pay more attention to the fab lyrics. Owl City combines natural elements with general situations in human's life, mostly love. and when they're combined, the lyrics come to be sooo very very romantic and meaningful. one of his track in Ocean Eyes album, which was in his old album, Maybe I'm Dreaming, is the most romantic song I ever known, and it's titled The Saltwater Room.

poor me, I have been too old to start becoming a musician, I don't have voice like Lambert's and I can't play music like Young. if only I were reborn, I really would study vocals and instruments.

p.s: in some of my next posts, I'll write in Bahasa Indonesia ;)
